Police investigating claims of a serious assault in St Blazey have issued a fresh appeal for clues.

A man in his 30s was targeted on Middleway on the last Saturday in July.

Devon and Cornwall Police have not released specific details about the incident.

However, they want to speak to the drivers of two cars who are believed to have stopped to help.

It happened at around 9.30pm and a man, arrested on suspicion of GBH, was released on bail.

"We believe there may have been some passing members of public who are yet to come forward.

"Police also believe a white Ford Escort van and a Land Rover may have stopped at the scene and assisted the victim, and are keen to speak with the driver/occupants of those vehicles.

"A 29-year-old man from Par was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released on police bail".
