Van owners are being urged to be on their guard after a spate of break-ins across north Cornwall.

Police say thefts have been happening in Bude, Launceston, Callington and Camelford.

Offenders are forcing the doors before snatching a load of power tools and other work tools.

Devon and Cornwall Police are calling on the public to report anything that seems suspicious.

"We are currently experiencing a spate of these offences in our areas and need your help.

"You are our eyes and ears within your community and experience has shown that you play a hugely important role in helping us with incidents such as these. No piece of information is to small, it may be the last piece of the jigsaw!

"Should you see any individuals or vehicles which cause concern please contact us via the methods below.

"Officers are reminding members of the public not to leave valuables in the vehicles - thieves know all of the hiding places.

"We would also advise car owners to park their vehicles in a garage or on a driveway if at all possible".
