One rushed to hospital after Cornish village crash

One person has been rushed to hospital after a crash in a village in north Cornwall.

Firefighters say a car careered into a wall and hit a sign at Coads Green near Launceston.

Crews say smoke was billowing from the vehicle after the collision on Penhole Road.

Police and paramedics were also scrambled to the scene, just before 4.30pm on Sunday.

"The fire service were called to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle that had hit a wall and a sign.

"One major appliance and landrover attended the scene with the vehicle smoking.

"Crews made the scene and vehicle safe, assisting the ambulance service with one male casualty who was conveyed to hospital by land ambulance.

"Police also attended the scene and were awaiting recovery to attend fro the vehicle".
