A bout of sea sickness left sailors struggling at sea off the coast of Lizard Point.

The Lizard RNLI Lifeboat was called to help at around 6pm on Friday night.

A 42ft catamaran had two people on board who were feeling unwell, while the boat was running low on fuel and needed a tow.

A rope was passed to the catamaran and the lifeboat tugged it in to Porthleven Harbour at sunset.

The Lizard RNLI Lifeboat launched on service shortly before 6pm this evening after receiving a report of a 42ft catamaran in need of some assistance.

"In a position of 1 nautical mile west of Lizard Point and with two people on board, the catamaran was running very low on fuel and both sailors were suffering from severe sea sickness.

"Upon arrival on scene a tow rope was passed and the vessel was safely towed in to Porthleven Harbour.

"The photograph shows the vessel under tow and on her way to Porthleven with the last of today's sun behind her."
