A woman is charged with murder in Cornish village

A woman has been charged with murder after the death of a man in a usually quiet Cornish village.

Emergency services were scrambled to reports of a domestic incident in Bugle.

It was reported that a man had suffered a stab wound just before 8pm Friday night.

35-year-old James Field from Truro was rushed to Treliske, but doctors could not save him.

Lindsey Gabriel from Bugle was later arrested and appeared before Truro Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

The 31-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear before Truro Crown Court on Tuesday for the consideration of bail.

The case will then go back to the Crown Court on Tuesday 23rd October.

"Emergency services were called at around 7.50pm on Friday 28 September, to reports of a domestic incident in Bugle. It was reported that a man has sustained a stab wound.

"Despite the best efforts of members of the public and the emergency services, 35-year-old James Field from Truro, was pronounced deceased at Treliske hospital.

"Lindsey Gabriel, aged 31, from Bugle, has been charged with murder and will appear at Truro Magistrates Court on Monday 1 October.

"The woman was known to the man in what is being regarded as a domestic. Police are not seeking anyone else in connection to the incident. 

"Next of kin have been information and formal identification has now taken place".
