Dawn French has corrected yet another top chef on the dos and don'ts of cream teas.

The comedian was quick to reply to Nigella Lawson when she posted this photo with the cream first!

Dawn responded in a particularly polite manner, pointing out the error of Nigella's ways!

"Nigella, darlin girl, far be it and all that , but seriously... jam (or red goo) goes first...NO EXCEPTIONS. Please. Thank you".

Dawn French

This is the conversation that followed...

And then followed a string of comments, including Alexandra who dared to venture: "Cream is the equivalent of butter so goes first".

Dawn described that as "twelve thousand kinds of wrong" and posted this meme when another radio presenter waded in!

This is not the first time the lovely Dawn has given TV personalities a ticking off over cream teas.

She famously gave Ant and Dec a talking to when they argued cream first, posting "come on boys".

Not forgetting Jason Manford's controversial claim that he did not care after a gig in Redruth. Dawn's response was simply "taxi for Jason Manford".

It is fair to say everyone this side of the Tamar (and beyond) knows it is jam first right?!
