This is the moment two people were spotted wave-dodging on a Cornish beach at the height of Storm Callum.

The pair were snapped in the shallows at Gyllyngvase beach in Falmouth, wearing nothing but swim-shorts.

Fiona Spargo could not believe what she was seeing, just an hour or so after high tide.

The storm is whipping up huge waves around the coast and Fiona shared the pictures with Pirate FM as a warning.

"These guys are in the sea at Gylly now. Please share and tell people NOT to do this".

At around the same time, Falmouth Police tweeted this warning, after having to chat to drivers about getting too close.

Coastguards and the RNLI have also issued warnings, urging people not risk their lives for so-called storm selfies.

"We saw a terrible tragedy at the start of this year, down on Lizard Point, and we don't want to see anybody lose their life just trying to get a photo.

"If you want to go out and take photos, take them from a safe distance, go to a safe place but don't risk your life; no selfie is ever worth it".
