Biker taken to hospital after A39 crash

A biker has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A39.

A car and a bike collided at Winnards Perch on Friday lunchtime.

It happened just outside the Birds of Prey Centre and emergency services were called to the scene.

The woman who was riding the bike and her passenger have both suffered minor injuries.

Closures were in place but the road has now re-opened.

"Police were called at around 12:20pm with reports of a collision involving a VW Golf and a Suzuki motorcycle on the A39, Winnards Perch, outside the Bird of Prey Centre.

"Closures are in place as emergency services attend.

"Minor injuries have been reported in relation to the female rider and her pillion passenger; the rider has been taken to Trelisk as a precaution.

"Road will be reopened once the damaged bike is removed and clear-up has taken place at the scene."

Devon and Cornwall Police

"One appliance from Padstow Community Fire Station responded to this incident.

"On arrival a road traffic collision involving a car and motorcycle was discovered.

"Firefighters assisted to make the scene safe."
