Driver escapes unhurt after crash on A30

A car has gone up an embankment after a rush-hour crash on the A30 in Cornwall.

One lane was blocked wetsbound, following the collision just after the junction for Redruth.

It happened just before 7.30am and Inrix Traffic and Travel was reporting heavy traffic and delays.

"This is a single-vehicle RTC which happened at 7.25am on the A30 at Redruth, by Avers roundabout.

"A car left the westbound carriageway and went up a bank, landing on the crash barrier at the side of the road".

Devon and Cornwall Police

Police have confirmed that no-one was injured and say the vehicle is waiting to be recovered.

Callers to Pirate FM's traffic and travel line say the incident has cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
