A car has been found flipped on its side on the main road to Newquay.

But the driver was nowhere to be seen.

"We got a report that a vehicle was seen by a member of the public travelling to work.

"It has obviously been involved in an accident and they were concerned due to the damage to the vehicle that somebody may be injured.

"Enquiries are on-going to try and locate the driver just to confirm that they are safe and well.

"All of our checks so far have been negative but we are continuing to investigate the matter."
