Pirate FM Nominated For Top Award

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 9:28am 14th November 2018. (Updated at 10:10am 14th November 2018)

The team who produce Pirate FM's on-air commercials have been nominated for a top industry award.

They work with hundreds of businesses across Cornwall every year, to craft messages that cut through and get results for clients.

Now the team has had a succession of nods in the 2018 Vox Awards, the industry's equivalent of the BAFTAs.

They recognise the best voice-over artists, agents, creatives, and producers in the industry, and are overseen by, amongst others, Peter Dickson, best known for being the voice of The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.

Pirate FM's mention comes for producing a commercial for Cornish surf and lifestyle retailer, Ann's Cottage, and comes in the 'Best Use of Music in a Campaign' category.

The advert was written by Pirate FM's inhouse creative Tim Hickman and produced by Damian Coombe.

But the good news does not stop there. Separately, producer Luke McPeake has been nominated for his production in the category 'Best Character Performance' and in the 'Sayer Producer of the Year' category.

Pirate FM's Managing Director, Mark Peters, said: "With thousands of messages competing for the attention of potential customers every day, it has never been more important for local businesses to stand out and cut through.

"Pirate FM is proud to enable Cornish companies to go toe-to-toe with national players in terms of the quality and sound of their commercials.

"Among the national and international brands represented in the nominations list are Volvo, Wilko's and the BBC's drama series The Bodyguard. I'm proud we are helping fly the flag for Cornwall - and the local businesses that are the backbone of the Duchy.
