This is the scene after scaffolding collapsed in the middle of Penzance.

Morrab Road was blocked in both directions after it came down just before 3.30pm on Wednesday.

There was slow traffic in the area.

Pirate FM listeners have reported some damage to parked cars but no one is believed to have been hurt.

Officials have confirmed that the road has now re-opened.

"Oh my! Scaffolding collapse at the bottom of Morrab Road just off the promenade.

"Hope no one was hurt!"

Lee James Palmer posted on Twitter

"Scaffolding has just fallen down outside the old Citroen garage on Morrab road, squashed Volvo and damage but no one hurt.

"I was parking at the Queen's Hotel when it came down, it missed me by one minute."
