Pirate FM has been gallivanting across Cornwall joining in with lighting it up for Christmas.

And since it is finally the season for Christmas lights, we thought we would take a look at a bunch of houses twinkling for a good cause.

Here are the places to visit if you are hopping in the car to hunt for Cornwall's coolest displays...

1. Trerice Drive, Newquay

For around 15 years, the Syders kit out their garden with dozens of decorations to create a winter wonderland.

This year they have a donation box raising money for St Francis Animal shelter and have people come from up country just to see it.

A couple of decorations were damaged in last year's weather but Derek has replaced them and even having the donation box broken into has not put him off doing it again this year!

 2. Greenwood Road, Penryn

The Richards family in Penryn are hoping their fundraising will help The Brain Tumour Charity find a cure.

They have a lot more to add to the display but they have a mechanical train set!

3. St Newlyn East

This is Dom Nagle's display to raise money for Cancer research.

Dom even has a dancing snowflake display on the front wall of his house!

4. Queen's Crescent, Bodmin

This display is the work of Daniel Greenaway and took SEVEN weeks to put up.

He is doing it to raise money for Bodmin Lions and last year's total has already been beaten.

Daniel reckons it only costs about £2 a night to keep the lights switched on.

You can even send Santa a letter from their grotto and providing there is an address on the letter, children are promised a reply!

5. Truro

Darren Mckie's display has fake snow and a life-like Santa in the window.

No surprise then, that he has families gathering at his door asking questions!

It took Darren about a week to put it up and it has all manner of lights from neon, LED, icicle, shooting snow LED sticks and stars!

6. Primrose road, Bude

These amazing lights are the work of Robin Bale and all proceeds go towards Cancer Research UK.

Robin says they will be switched on between 4.30pm and 9.30pm every night.

And this is not Robin's first rodeo - he has raised £1500 with his lights in the last three years!

There are some real stunning displays to admire, making you wonder how many lights there actually are across Cornwall!
