Body found in water is missing dad from Cornwall

An inquest has been opened and adjourned, into the death of a young dad from Redruth.

Police have confirmed a body, found in the water at nearby Gilberts Coombe, was Daniel Clark.

The tragic discovery was made more than two weeks after the 34-year-old disappeared.

It followed his family and friends' desperate searches around Illogan and nearby Tehidy Woods.

At the time, Devon and Cornwall Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

On Thursday morning, a spokesperson confirmed formal identification has taken place.

"A body, found on the 23rd of November 2018, has been formally identified as Daniel Clark".
