Some parts of the Duchy have lost power.

It includes around 80 homes in Callington, after a fallen tree on Launceston Road severed power lines and caused delays for drivers.

Western Power Distribution said that they expected to have supplies restored by around 6.30pm, offering hope to those keen to watch Strictly.

Another dozen homes around Wadebridge might have to wait another hour for the lights to come back on.

A forecaster for the Met Office said:

"This evening and night will be very windy with frequent showers. Severe gales near Bristol Channel and English channel coasts, and also over the moors and other western hills, may cause delays to transport or brief losses to power supplies.

"Winds will ease and showers will gradually clear during [Sunday] morning, leaving a dry and sunny afternoon for most. However, occasional showers will continue in Devon and Cornwall.".

The yellow weather warning was due to be stood down at 7am on Sunday morning.
