A stretch of the main road between Truro and Falmouth was closed for the second day in a row, because of a 'dangerous tree'.

The A39 was shut between the Treluswell roundabout at Penryn and the Carnon Gate roundabout at Devoran.

Cornwall Council tweeted a warning, saying it was expected to remain closed until early Monday evening.

The closure was from the Treluswell roundabout through to the Carnon Gate roundabout at Devoran.

It was affecting journeys on the buses, which will now be diverted through Perranwell.

"A39 in both directions closed. Very slow traffic due to fallen tree between A393 (Treluswell Roundabout, Penryn) and A39, Carnon Gate Roundabout, Devoran."

Diversions were in place through Monday afternoon but Cornwall Council asked drivers to avoid the area.

However, officials confirmed the road had reopened in time for rush-hour.
