Cornwall Business Awards Announce Pirate FM as Key Partner

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 4:24pm 12th December 2018. (Updated at 4:30pm 12th December 2018)

Pirate FM has announced a new partnership with the Cornwall Business Awards, ahead of the fourteenth annual ceremony, next year.

The awards are a celebration of innovation, achievement and entrepreneurial spirit within the Cornish business community, organised by The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth and Skills Hub on behalf of the Cornwall Development Company.

The glittering event shines a spotlight on the amazing people who help drive the Cornish economy and make it one of the best places in the country to do business.

Pirate FM has now been confirmed as media partner, ahead of entries opening on the 7th January 2019.

The station will be offering a £10,000 marketing campaign to one lucky entrant, including digital, video, social and on-air advertising. It will be awarded to the business that, in the judges’ view, could benefit most from such a substantial marketing package on Pirate FM’s platforms.

Pirate FM’s Managing Director, Mark Peters, said: “Pirate FM has built its reputation on helping businesses across Cornwall to develop, grow and celebrate success. We’re extremely pleased to be media partners of the 2019 Cornwall Business Awards and look forward to seeing the huge amount of talent that the Duchy’s business community has to offer.”

Kirsty Miles-Musgrave, the Communications Manager for the Growth and Skills Hub said: “For 2019, we are keen to open up the awards to a whole new audience and we hope the partnership with Pirate FM will be really successful in encouraging people to apply for an award for the first time and help us find those hidden business gems from across Cornwall."

The Cornwall Business Awards are free to enter and open to any business with its head office or main business premises in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

Companies have from the seventh of January until the thirty-first of March to enter a range of categories, including: Best Customer Service, Best Business with a Purpose, Best Place to Work and Product of the Year.

For the first time in 2019, a panel of judges will choose the final winners from the top three in each category in a Dragon’s Den-style “show down day”. Finalists will be invited to meet the panel and make a final pitch for their business to be the ultimate winner.
