Man named after fatal crash in Penzance

An elderly man who died after a crash in Penzance has been named.

89-year-old Mr William 'Grevis' Williams was from Newlyn.

Police say he passed away at Treliske hospital from natural causes and not as a result of the collision.

It is after a vehicle crashed into two parked cars on Heamoor Road on Friday evening.

Anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact officers.

"Police were called at 5.10pm on Friday 7th December following reports of a road traffic collision in Penzance.

"The incident, which happened on Heamoor Road, involved a Silver Toyota Aygo and a parked black panel van.

"A second report was received later where the same Toyota was in collision with two parked cars in Reens Crescent.

"Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the Toyota, an 89-year-old man, was taken to Treliske hospital.

"Mr William ‘Grevis’ Williams, aged 89, from Newlyn, passed away in hospital on Saturday 8 December as a result of natural causes, not as a result of the road traffic collision."

Devon and Cornwall Police

Police would ask anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a Silver Toyota Aygo in the area at the time of the collision to contact the Police on 101 quoting incident log number 672, of Friday 7th December.
