One person airlifted to hospital after bank rescue

A casualty has had to be airlifted to hospital after a major rescue near Newquay.

The injured person was found around 10ft down a bank between Zelah and Fiddlers Green.

Firefighters from Perranporth and Tolvaddon were scrambled, early on Thursday afternoon.

They confirmed the casualty was flown to hospital but there is no word on exactly what happened.

"One fire appliance from Perranporth and the line rescue unit from Tolvaddon were requested to assist ambulance with a casualty that was about 10 feet down a bank.

"Firefighters assisted with the casualty who was transported to hospital by air ambulance.

"There is no information available regarding the condition of the casualty".
