VIDEO: Switch-on for 'most magical' Christmas lights

The Christmas lights often branded Cornwall's most magical have been switched on.

The village of Mousehole has been celebrated for its spectacular display for more than 50 years.

Dozens came to see the 55th annual switch-on this Saturday, with the lights to remain on throughout December.

They will be dimmed on 19th December, to remember those who lost their lives in the Penlee lifeboat disaster.

In the meantime, Pirate FM has rounded up some of the fantastic photos and videos from this year's switch-on... enjoy!

The beautiful Mousehole Christmas Lights! There is an amazing story called The Mousehole Cat Authored by Antonia Barber and Illustrated by Nicola Bailey that Lexi absolutely adores and we now read it every Christmas Eve, it tells the legend behind why such a spectacular display of lights is even more special in this little harbour town way down the bottom of Cornwall 🙂 Conditions were less than favourable for the switch on, but it was so nice to see lots of people around the harbour and in the many eateries and shops. #mousehole #mouseholecat #cornwall #cornishlegend #christmas #lights #shining #bright #colourful #rainbowcolours #water #harbour #photograph #photographer #stormdeidre @bbcspotlight #cornishchristmas #christmastradition #moonrise #photographer #freelancephotographer #ilovecornwall #forhire #commisionsopen #printsavailable #lexisplace #beautifulcornwall
