Five people are injured after a multi-vehicle crash that closed a stretch of the A30.

The pile-up shut the westbound carriageway between the junctions for Redruth and Tolvaddon.

A van and three cars were caught in the collision just before 8.30pm on Wednesday evening.

Police say none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening and one driver is in custody.

Driving conditions were described as "nasty" because of heavy rain and reports of hail showers.

"A30 westbound closed due to multi-vehicle accident from A3047 (Avers Roundabout, Redruth) to A3047 (Tolvaddon, Camborne).

"Drive carefully some of these showers are nasty".

Kernow Weather Team
