Driver de-arrested after pile-up on A30

A driver has been released after a pile-up that closed a stretch of the A30 for over three hours.

Four vehicles were caught in the crash between the junctions for Redruth and Camborne.

Five people were injured on Wednesday evening, however officers say none were seriously hurt.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed a man given a breath test at the roadside has been de-arrested.

"The call came through at 8.22pm, reporting a four vehicle road traffic collision on the westbound carriageway.

"Both lanes were closed while police and Highways recovered all four vehicles.

"We have five injured casualties but none are believed to be serious or life-threatening.

"We have one of the drivers in custody after providing a roadside breath test".

The force has since confirmed a driver who was given blood tests at the hospital has been de-arrested.

They added that the matter is now closed.
