Arson suspected after a house fire in Cornwall

A late-night house fire on a quiet street in Bodmin is being treated as suspicious.

Three people were inside when the suspected arson attack happened on Rhind Street.

The blaze is believed to have started at the front door but police have confirmed no-one was injured.

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone who saw something just after midnight to come forward.

"Police were called at 00.20am on 31 December following the report of a fire at an address in Rhind Street, Bodmin.

"It is believed that the fire had begun at the front door of the property.

"The three occupants were uninjured in the incident. Fire service attended.

"The fire is being treated as suspicious at this time.

"Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the street around the time of the offence is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting log number 14 of 31/12/18".
