Crews from across east Cornwall battle house fire

Firefighters from Devon and Cornwall have been scrambled to a house fire in Torpoint.

Crews from the town, Saltash, Liskeard and from over the Tamar all the shout.

The fire broke out just before 1pm on Wednesday afternoon and crews used hosereel jets to put it out.

Crews remained on the scene and the blaze has now been extinguished.

"At 12.55pm the Critical Control Centre received a call informing them of a house fire in Torpoint.

"Crews from Saltash, Liskeard and Torpoint Community Fire Stations attended, supported by an appliance from Devon and a wholetime officer.

"Firefighters used breathing apparatus and hosereel jets to extinguish the fire.

"The fire has now been extinguished."
