Devon and Cornwall Police puppy needs new home

Meet Lola - the gorgeous Devon and Cornwall Police dog who needs a new home.

Our force has shared an appeal on social media to make it a 'Happy New Year' for the puppy.

The 12-month-old Dutch Herder/Malinois cross is being released from its development programme.

That is because although healthy, her hips do not meet the exacting standard needed to be a working police dog.

Trainers say she needs a family with experience of this type of breeding and a 'firm but fair' owner.

"Lola has a loving nature and is good with people and other dogs, but she can be stubborn and needs someone who is firm but fair.

"The puppy walker family who have cared for her and socialised her for 10 months since she was very small are very sad to lose her, but this is very occasionally the way of the development programme at Devon & Cornwall Police.

"You can read more about that here: www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/…/pol…/puppy-development-scheme

"If you are seriously interested, please contact they head of the programme Paul Glennon at glenno1954@icloud.com".
