Big rescue operation on Cornish coast

A big rescue operation has been carried out on the Cornish coast amid concerns for a man's welfare.

Police, a lifeboat, paramedics and a coastguard helicopter were all called to Mullion Cove.

A man was found 300 yards down the cliff.

He was brought back to safety by a lifeboat and is being airlifted to hospital.

"Police were called at 2.05pm today following for concern for the welfare of man at Mullion Cove.

"The man was located 300 yards down the cliff.

"HM Coastguard, Lifeboat and Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter were deployed to bring the man off the cliff.

"Ambulance attended too.

"The man is now off the cliff and in the Lifeboat.

"He is being taken to hospital by helicopter."
