Schoolboy left shaken up after hit-and-run

A schoolboy has been left shaken up after a hit-and-run in north Cornwall.

Police say the 11-year-old was involved in a collision with a car last Friday afternoon.

The vehicle did not stop and drove off at speed in Port Gaverne, near Port Isaac.

The boy was left with bruising but was not seriously hurt.

Officers are asking for anyone who saw what happened at around 4pm to get in touch.

"The incident took place at around 4pm on Friday 11th January in Port Gaverne, near Port Isaac.

"An 11-year-old boy was struck by a silver Mercedes car, which failed to stop following the incident and drove off at speed.

"The vehicle described as sporty looking with blacked out windows.

"The boy sustained bruising and was left shaken up by the incident."

Devon and Cornwall Police

Police are appealing for witnesses.
