13 reports of thefts across north Cornwall in 24 hours

Police have been called to 13 reports of thefts across north Cornwall in just 24 hours.

Officers say the incidents involved vehicles in the Launceston area.

Thousands of pounds' worth of power tools were stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday.

There have also been spikes in St Austell, Bodmin and also in Devon.

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging people not to leave tools and equipment in vehicles overnight.

They say they are now working hard to try and identify the suspects.

 

 

"Police have been notified of 13 separate offences of thefts or attempted thefts from vehicles in the Launceston area between Tuesday 15th January and Wednesday 16th January.

"The offences have mainly involved vans and power tools worth thousands of pounds were stolen.

"Similar spikes have been recently seen in St Austell, Bodmin and other Devon areas.

"Police have made extensive enquiries and are working through a large amount of information in an effort to identify the suspects.

"Officers are advising the public not to leave their tools and equipment for prolonged periods in their vans, especially overnight.

"Police would like to hear from anyone who saw a 2005 Silver Nissan X-Trail or similar in the area on either Tuesday or Wednesday."
