Drivers, stranded on the A30 in Cornwall, are being urged to stay with their cars.

Around 100 are stuck on the stretch at Temple, after an afternoon of heavy snow.

Cornwall Council says a small number of people are affected and a gritter and snow plough are on the way.

Police tweeted an update to say they are doing everything they can to get things moving.

"We're working with partners to get traffic moving as swiftly and safely as possible but there is likely to be disruption on the roads this evening.

"If you’re stuck in traffic please stay with your vehicles and please consider whether your journey is essential before heading out".
