Flood alerts, issued for the whole of the north Cornwall coast as Storm Erik hits, have been lifted.

The alerts were in force from Land's End to Bude as the strong winds whipped up huge waves.

However the gusts are causing chaos on the roads, affecting the ferries, trains and the Tamar Bridge.

If the flood situation changes, you will find all the latest flood warnings for Cornwall here.

The Met Office had lifted that yellow weather warning for wind, but a new one has been issued.

"It will still be a windy day, we will see the wind and the rain.

"If you're heading to the coastlines, around the coasts and exposed areas, we will still see those really strong wind gusts.

"Inland areas, most places may be up to 40mph or so. Around the coastlines and the exposed hills, we're expecting up to 60mph or so.

"It will still be a windy day but less impactful than perhaps it had the potential to be earlier in the week".
