Young woman punched in the face in Liskeard

Police have launched an appeal after a woman was attacked by a man wearing a balaclava in Liskeard.

Officers say she was punched in the face and left with a black eye, after being approached.

The incident happened in the area near the Cattlemarket car park on Saturday night.

Anyone who saw something at around 9pm is being urged to come forward.

"Police are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of an assault in Liskeard.

"The incident was reported to have happened at 9pm on Saturday 9 February by the Cattlemarket Car Park.

"The victim, a woman in her 20s, was approached by a man wearing a balaclava. She was punched to the face causing a black eye.

"The offender is described a white male, around 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hoody, black tracksuit and a black balaclava".

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/012394/19.
