Man faces prostitution and human trafficking charges in Cornwall

A man from Redruth has been charged with offences linked to prostitution and human trafficking.

Kang Sean Wong, who goes by the name Sean, is accused of managing brothels used for prostitution.

The other charges include facilitating the travel of a woman, with a view to exploiting her.

The 34-year-old, of Tresarderns Road, appeared before Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday 7th February.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Truro Crown Court on Tuesday 5th March.

Devon and Cornwall Police say the charges have been brought under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Those relating to human trafficking are the first of their kind to be charged in the force area.
