Teen injured after suspected knife attack

A 16-year-old boy has been injured after a suspected knife attack in Newquay.

Police were called to reports of a fight on a bus, that was in the bus station.

They say the teenager suffered a minor puncture wound to his back.

Officers also received a report of another person with injuries turning up at the cinema.

They are urging anyone who saw something at around 7pm on Thursday to come forward.

"Police were called at around 7pm (21/2) with reports of an altercation between a group of people on a bus which was in Newquay bus station.

"There was also a report of one person who was believed to have been involved in the incident, having turned up at the Lighthouse Cinema having sustained injuries.

"Emergency services attended a 16-year-old boy was treated for a minor puncture wound to his back.

"Police have arrested a 17 and 18-year-old man from the Newquay area on suspicion of wounding with intent.

"Police enquiries continue, and anyone with any information and who has yet to speak to officers in relation to this incident, is asked to contact 101 quoting crime reference CR/016128/19".
