Molly Hocking from St Ives was just 17 when she auditioned for The Voice - and now she has made it through the first battle round!

The Cornish teenager wowed the judges during blind auditions, but picked Olly Murs as her mentor.

On Saturday night, we watched her pitted against fellow member of Team Olly, Connie Lamb.

The girls went head to head with Ghost The Musical’s ‘With You’ and Molly nailed it!

They were given a standing ovation, with Sir Tom Jones described the performance as tremendous.

How do the battle rounds work?

Once the mentor has made their choice, the other judges are given a chance to steal the remaining contestant.

Olly chose Molly as the winner but Connie did not leave the show, after being stolen by Jennifer Hudson.

As he picked Molly, Olly gave her a hug and told her it was "amazing", while Molly's mum said "so proud".

Molly still remembers the moment the judges turned their chairs in the blind auditions, describing it as insane!

"I went on stage thinking nothing of it and that it was just a bonus if I got a turn. When they turned I was gobsmacked!

"I can't see myself doing anything else ever. I've worked as a waitress but it just doesn't really float my boat.

"I just want to perform - it's what I want to do. So, I'm going to do my best to make that happen".
