This is the extent of the damage after a massive fire tore through an iconic pub in Cornwall.

The Fisherman's Arms, which overlooks the harbour in Newlyn, went up in flames in the early hours.

It is understood four people have been treated for breathing in smoke, with at least one taken to hospital.

At its height, crews from St Just, Penzance, St Ives, Hayle, Truro and Helston were battling the blaze on Fore Street.

The flames tore through an upstairs bedroom, before spreading downstairs and to an adjacent building.

Police have confirmed several nearby properties had to be evacuated and the road was cordoned off.
