Police hunt for driver after alleged hit and run

Police are searching for a driver thought to have been involved in a hit-and-run in Cornwall.

Officers say a van was hit by a car which fled the scene on the A30 at Hayle.

No one was hurt when it happened at Loggans Moor roundabout on Wednesday lunchtime.

Devon and Cornwall Police say a VW Caddy was damaged and they are trying to locate the other car.

"Two vehicle collision [hit-and-run] reported at 1.25pm on A30 at Loggans, Hayle.

"A van was struck on the side by a car which the left the scene.

"The VW caddy van sustained damage.

"Police are making enquiries to locate the offending car, believed to be a blue Mercedes".
