Young woman's body found by the river in Truro

A police cordon has been put up after the body of a young woman was found on the river bank in Truro.

Paramedics were also called to Garras Wharf on Friday morning and carried out CPR.

Officers are trying to identify the casualty and trace her family.

"Police and ambulance were called at 10.05am today [15 March] following concern for the welfare of a woman found on the river bank at Garras Wharf, Truro.

"Ambulance carried out CPR on the woman.

"Police are currently trying to ascertain her identity and locate any next of kin.

"The fire service are also in attendance.

"A cordon is in place".
