Strong winds have damaged the roof of Cornwall's police HQ, forcing it to close.

Officers say the site at Bodmin is "insecure" and urgent repairs are being carried out.

They will be working from Carew House and Wadebridge Police Station until the work is complete.

"Members of the public are asked not to attend Bodmin Police Station at the moment, due to an insecure roof there, caused by recent adverse weather conditions.

"We will be maintaining a presence in Bodmin via Carew House and officers will also be working more from Wadebridge Police Station, until the roof is repaired.

"Your patience is very much appreciated in this matter".
