Body discovered near a Falmouth pier

Police have confirmed a man's body has been found in the water, close to a Cornish pier.

The discovery was made by the Prince of Wales pier in Falmouth on Monday afternoon.

Officers were called just before 3pm, along with paramedics, a lifeboat and Coastguards.

"Coastguard, lifeboat, police and ambulance were called to the scene at around 2.55pm.

"The body has been recovered and officers' enquiries into the incident continue".
