Police believe they have identified a man who was pulled from the water in Falmouth.

An appeal was launched to try and work out who he was after a body was discovered.

Officers were called to an area between the Prince of Wales and Greenbank on Monday.

Coastguard crews and the Falmouth inshore lifeboat were also scrambled.

Now officers say they think he was a 59-year-old man from the town.

His family have been traced but formal identification has not yet been carried out.
