Two rushed to hospital after crash on old A30

One of the people rushed to hospital after a crash on Cornwall's old A30 was an elderly woman.

She was suffering from chest pains after two vehicles hit at Goss Moor.

One ended up in a ditch and the other hit a lamppost.

Officers do not think her injuries are serious and confirmed a man was treated at the scene.

The collision closed the stretch between Roche and Victoria for several hours on Monday night.

A Peugeot and a Ford were caught in the collision on the B3274, just after 7pm on Monday.

"One car ended up in a ditch, the other collided with a lamppost.

"Ambulance and fire attended along with the police and a closure was put in place.

"One elderly lady was taken to Treliske hospital with chest pains; it's since been confirmed that her injuries are not thought to be serious.

"One man was also treated at the scene. the road was cleared and reopened by around 10:50pm".

In a statement to Cornwall Live, South Western Ambulance Service confirmed two ambulances were scrambled.

"We were called to reports of an incident at 19:07 this evening.

"We sent two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle.

"Two patients are being taken to hospital for further treatment".
