Pro-Brexit protest on A30 stopped by police

Published by Emma Carton at 7:09pm 22nd March 2019.

Police have confirmed vehicles taking part in a pro-Brexit protest on Cornwall's A30 were stopped.

Posting on Twitter, officers confirmed nine were stopped and two were reported for inconsiderate driving.

The rolling road block left Plusha at 3.30pm on Friday, heading west towards Truro.

The small convoy sparked delays, as photos seemed to show vehicles in both lanes.

Police have also issued a warning to drivers taking part in a similar protest on the M5.

"My officers remain with the M5 convoy and will continue to conclusion.

"We are committed to ensuring safety on our roads and will take proportionate steps to ensure the free movement of traffic throughout our Force area".

Inspector Si Jenkinson
