Grieving dad makes plea to find daughter's missing phone

The dad of a teenager who died suddenly in Truro is appealing for help to find her missing phone.

Pearl Bamford was found on a riverbank in the Garras Wharf area on Friday 15th March.

Efforts were made to revive the 19-year-old from Bude, but sadly she died in hospital.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Pearl's family have described her as a "wonderful cherished daughter and friend", who "shone brightly".

Now her dad, Johnny, has told BBC Cornwall how he wants to find Pearl's phone which was reportedly missing from her backpack.

He believes the white iPhone 5 was taken from her bag at the scene.

He told the BBC: "My plea is that if someone did take it from the rucksack outside Tesco is that it's got no real value, I'm happy to give someone a new one just to have it back, so we can process our grief."

Anyone who finds any items that belonged to Pearl or who knows where her phone might be is asked to contact officers.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Pearl during this deeply tragic time.

"We are aware that some items belonging to Pearl have yet to have been located and we continue to review CCTV as part of this.

"If anyone has found any items belonging to Pearl, or knows of the whereabouts of her mobile phone, please contact 101 quoting enquiry number EN/004007/19."
