Schoolgirls fundraise so all children can afford class trip

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 1:57pm 26th March 2019. (Updated at 3:37pm 26th March 2019)

Two school girls from Looe are fundraising so every child in their class can afford to go on a school trip.

Akira and Julia didn't want anyone to miss out where their parents couldn't afford it.

The class trip is a residential one at the school in June with lots of exciting outdoor activities planned to get them out in nature - all of the children are very excited about it which is why the girls don't want anyone to miss out.

So the seven-year-olds from Looe Primary Academy decided to do six 5k runs to help raise the money.

The pair are looking for raffle prizes and sponsorship where possible.

You can find their fundraising page here.

"Julia and Akira have been spending all their free time running and organising fundraising because they want to help their friends.

"We're all very proud of the hard work they're putting in for the trip."

"Akira and Julia are raising money for their school residential trip, trying to ensure that their whole class can participate in this educational activity.

"They don't want anyone to be left out which is why they are running for your sponsorship.

"They have signed up for 6 - 5k runs this year.

"If they raise more than the target amount, all other funding will go towards future trips for the whole class to experience together."
