Police hunt a man who threatened to harm dog

Police are hunting the suspect who allegedly threatened to harm a dog in Plymouth.

Officers believe the man was holding an axe at a park in Plymstock.

They were called to reports of a spat between two walkers on the second Sunday in March.

It happened between 7pm and 7.30am and anyone who saw something is urged to come forward.

"Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident at a park in Plymstock.

"It is alleged that between 7-7:30pm on Sunday 10 March, there was an altercation between two men who both were walking a dog in the area of Deans Cross Park/Playing fields.

"The suspect, described as a stocky white man in his 30s and around 6ft tall, was walking brown pit-bull type dog.

"He was believed to be wearing a blue jacket, carrying a large rucksack on his back and wearing an illuminating head torch during this incident.

"The suspect, whilst holding an axe, made threats to harm the German Shepherd dog the victim was walking during the time of the altercation".
