UPDATE: Main road from Truro to St Austell closed after crash

The main road between Truro and St Austell was left closed for hours after a crash.

Two cars were involved on the A390 at Probus on Wednesday morning.

Two elderly people have been taken to hospital but they are not believed to be seriously injured

The road was closed eastbound and with slow traffic in the area.

Accident investigation work has now taken place at the scene and the road has re-opened.

"A390 Probus Bypass Eastbound re-opened, earlier accident investigation work between B3275 and A390 (Trewithen Roundabout)."

Inrix Traffic and Travel.

"The collision involved a Ford Fiesta and a Ford focus.

"An elderly man and woman in the fiesta were later taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

"The road was reopened just before 1pm."
