Looe schoolgirls fundraising for class trip smash their target

Two schoolgirls from Looe who are fundraising so all the children in their class can go on a school trip have smashed their target.

The residential in June includes lots of outdoor activities to get the kids out in nature.

Akira and Julia, from Looe Primary Academy, didn't want anyone to miss out where their parents couldn't afford it.

So, the seven-year-olds decided to do six 5k runs to help raise the money.

Pirate FM's Neil and Lucy at Breakfast spoke to the girls on the show on Wednesday morning.

"We are running six 5k and we are doing a raffle at the fair and are making cupcakes."

On behalf of the company he has donated the remaining £100 of their £400 target.

"I work with schools and I realise how hard it is for parents because we deal with it all the time,

"We would like to donate, as a company, the £100 the girls need to get the rest of the class on this residential trip."
