Eight charged after police raids in Cornwall and London

Eight people have been charged after a series of warrants were carried out across Cornwall and London.

The stings were in relation to a string of offences linked to drugs and modern slavery.

They were carried out back in February at addresses in Haringey, Lewisham, Hackney, Bodmin, St Austell and Newquay.

It is part of ongoing work to disrupt the so-called county lines drug gangs and eight people have been charged.

Three people were charged on Tuesday 26th March 2019 and have been bailed to appear at Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday 28th March.

A 56-year-old man from Bodmin has been charged with:

• Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
• Two charges of Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)

A 32-year-old man from Newquay has been charged with:
• Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin

A 65-year-old woman from St Dennis has been charged with:
• Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
• Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)

Four further people from London, who appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Thursday 28th February 2019 are due to appear in Truro Crown Court on Tuesday 2nd April 2019.

Another person, also from London, appeared at Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday 7th March 2019.

They are due to appear in Truro Crown Court on Tuesday 2nd April 2019.
