Man dies after crash in west Cornwall

A man has died after a fatal crash in west Cornwall.

Police and firefighters were called to Leedstown on Sunday lunchtime.

One car was involved in Millbank Meadow but sadly a local man could not be saved.

Officers went over the scene are investigating.

Anyone who saw what happened just before 12.20pm is asked to get in touch.

"At approximately 12.18pm on Sunday 7th April police were advised of a single vehicle road traffic collision in Millbank Meadow, Leedstown near Hayle.

"Emergency services attended and despite the best efforts of emergency service personnel the only occupant of the vehicle, a local male could sadly not be saved and was declared deceased at the scene.

"Officers from Devon and Cornwall Alliance Roads Policing Team along with specialist collision investigators attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances of this collision."

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to ring 101 and quote incident number 362 of 7th April.
