Firefighters tackle 'major' pub fire in Padstow

A 'major' fire has broken out at a pub in Padstow.

Firefighters got the call to North Quay after several 999 calls on Saturday afternoon.

Crews from the town, Wadebridge, St Columb, Bodmin, Launceston, St Austell and Newquay are all on the scene tackling the blaze.

Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area.

"We are currently attending a major building fire in North Quay, Padstow after receiving several calls at 14:45. 

"Appliances from Padstow, Wadebridge, St Columb, Bodmin, Launceston, St Austell and Newquay are being mobilised/are on scene. 

"Please avoid the area if possible to help the crews deal with the incident."





Update 3.50pm: "This is now an 8 pump incident.

"Due to multiple further fire appliances en route, we please ask the public stay away from the area to help crews tackle the fire."
